Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has announced that he will be opening a Nike store at his former college, the University of Nebraska, which will be located in downtown Lincoln. Over the years since leaving the university, Suh has kept in close ties with the staff there and also formed a friendship with Warren Buffett and the store will be in a prime location to excel. Before his NFL days, the four-time Pro Bowl player had been offered endorsements from Nike, however he currently is working with Adidas as one of his sponsors. Nonetheless he will be opening the Nike store at a to be determined date and it shouldn’t put his other contracts in jeopardy.
The Portland, Oregon native was a star athlete at his high school in three different sports: football, basketball, and track. However, his talent for football was so obviously recognized that he was picked as the Interscholastic League Defensive Player of the Year and was even chosen to play in the 2005 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Even though he had offers from a few different schools, he committed to go to the University of Nebraska on a athletic scholarship and played there from 2005-2009. Suh entered the 2010 NFL draft where he was picked as the second overall pick by the Detroit Lions, and played on the team until 2015. In the 2015 season he announced that he signed a six year contract with the Miami Dolphins for $114 million dollars, which makes him the highest paid defensive player in the history of the NFL.
Suh has decided to return back to his roots where he will be opening a Nike store in Lincoln near the University of Nebraska, and it will be announced at a later time when exactly it will open.
