New York Jets Brandon Marshall is now a brand ambassador for the mental wellness training app called “Lucid” and recently spoke to a group of high school students and athletes about it. Over the course of this current NFL season, Marshall will be linking up with Lucid to gift a finite amount of free subscriptions. Marshall, along with the company, believe mental health and fitness is just as important as our physical well-being, and this app will help provide exercises to practice that.
The five-time Pro Bowl player got his start in football by playing for Central Florida University until he was picked up by the Denver Broncos during the 2006 NFL Draft. The Pennsylvania native also played for the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears before joining the New York Jets in 2015. Even though he is fairly new to the football league he currently holds the record of most receptions in a game in the NFL, a total of 21. In 2011, Marshall was diagnosed with having borderline personality disorder and has become a major spokesperson for the illness and does everything he can to promote awareness. The 2011 Pro Bowl MVP is also only one of five players in the history of the NFL to catch 100 passes or more throughout three consecutive seasons.
Marshall will be teaming up with Lucid to promote meditation and mental relaxation with the assistance of their app. It’s a great way for athletes to find a good balance between exertion of both the mind and body.
