NFL All-Pro A.J. Green spoke at the Augusta Bulldog Club kickoff event at Legends Club on July 20. Green was happy to go back to his alma mater and prides himself in giving back to the community which he came from. He was the keynote speaker for the event, and was able to discuss with the audience a lot about his career in the NFL and get into some of the best and most difficult times that he overcame. The event was a big success and a great way to enjoy what’s left of the summer months.
The Summerville, South Carolina native was a three-sport athlete star at his high school where he played track, basketball, and football. He committed to play for an attend the University of Georgia, which he did for two years before deciding to take his talents to the professional level before finishing up his degree. Green entered the 2011 NFL Draft and was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round as the fourth overall pick, and he is still a part of the team today.
The five-time Pro Bowl player was excited to go back to the campus that he used to call his home for a couple of years, and help inspire today’s current students and athletes to go that extra mile for their futures.
