Moe Elewonibi SpeakerFormer NFL and CFL great Moe Elewonibi will be the keynote speaker for Walk Away from Racism on Saturday, March 15, 2014. The event will be held at the downtown Community Centre, 401 – 11th Avenue. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

The Walk Away from Racism event is being held to create inclusion in the community by supporting and welcoming diversity. It will include a CR DancExtreme full performance, face painting, Tara School of Dance performances, family crafts, snacks and beverages by Thrifty Foods. The walk will be fun and easy for anyone participating, so come out and make a statement at the Walk Away from Racism event with Moe Elewonibi.

Elowonibi played for both the Redskins and Lions in the National Football League before taking his game to the Canadian Football League in the late 90’s. With the Redskins he was a part of the 1991 Super Bowl Championship team, though he was hurt at the time of the big game. In the CFL he was a part of the 1998 B.C. Lions West Championship team, being named a CFL All-Star that year. A member of the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame, Elewonibi had a stellar 10 year career as an offensive lineman at the highest level of the game.
