Buffalo Bills Andre Reed was present at Ford Harrison Park’s First Fundraiser that took place on July 31st in Clearwater, Florida. The event began at 5:00 p.m. and was raising funds to support the Humane Society of Pinellas County with a buffet and music program before the dogs came out to put on a fashion show. The fundraiser was a collaboration with the Humane Society and a local non-profit organization called Fancy Paws, and the turnout was a big success. Reed gave a good talk in show of his support of their efforts, and there was also a meet and greet with several athletes from the Tampa Bay Storm team.
The Allentown, Pennsylvania native started playing football while attending Dieruff High School and helped the team go to the EPC tri-championship. He ended up attending Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where he got national attention for his abilities in speed and durability, and eventually entered the 1985 NFL Draft where he was selected in the 4th round by Buffalo Bills. Reed stayed with the team for eight years before doing two brief terms with the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins just prior to his retirement in 2000. Afterwards, the 7-time Pro Bowl athlete appeared on a few sports-related TV shows such as ESPN2’s “First Take” and served as an analyst on NFL on Fox.
Reed traveled to Clearwater, Florida at the end of July to give a talk and show support for the local Humane Society and local organization, Fancy Paws.
