NFL coaches for the Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Marvin Lewis and Dirk Koetter have been announced as this year’s special guests for the Idaho State University Football Alumni Team Golf Scramble that happened earlier this month on June 25th at the Highland Golf Course in Pocatello. The night before on the 24th, there was a special meet and greet social event that was held at Phil Meador Toyota at 7 p.m. that evening. Both of the coaches are alumni of ISU and a part of the 1981 championship team, so it will be a memorable and special event for them as well.
Lewis is a native of McDonald, Pennsylvania and began playing football at the young age of nine. Over the course of his 35 year career so far, he’s been the linebackers coach for many schools such as ISU, Long Beach State, New Mexico, and Pittsburgh. Shortly after his time doing that he went on to be a coach in the NFL and is currently the head coach for the Cincinnati Bengals. Koetter also attended Idaho State University and began his coaching career at Highland HS,and after spending 22 years working at universities he went on to the NFL to coach for the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, and currently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Both men participated at their old school’s Alumni Team Golf Scramble in Pocatello recently, and it was fun for them to once again be a part of the action from an athlete’s point of view.
