Famed former quarterback Archie Manning and his wife Olivia will be honored as the 2013 Stars of the year by the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi at Crystal Ball XIII that is scheduled to be hold on January 19, 2013 at Southaven Arena in Southhaven, Mississippi.
Community Foundation president Tom Pittman noted, “The Mannings exemplify not only professional success but, more importantly, Mississippians’ care for their community and their family. They are wonderful examples of Mississippians who have made a difference, and it will be an honor to recognize their achievements at the Crystal Ball.”
Previous recipients have included actor Morgan Freeman and former Governor and Mrs. William Winter. The two-time Pro Bowler is most well-known today as the father of quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, but spent 14 seasons in the NFL as a QB for the New Orleans Saints, Houston Oilers and Minnesota Vikings.
Tickets for the Crystal Ball black-tie preferred event are $150 per person, available by calling 662-449-5002 or visiting crystalballgala.org. The foundation’s only fundraiser benefits more than 200 charitable organizations and causes through the Community Foundation.
