Adrian PetersonMinnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson spent February 13th in the Savannah, Georgia area to be the guest speaker for the Calvary Day Football and Cheerleading banquet. He gave an inspirational talk to the students on the Georgia Southern campus and was able to draw in a lot of people thanks to his amazing athletic talent. Former Professional NFL player for the San Diego Chargers Takeo Spikes also gave a talk on the same day, and both sportsmen shared stories of their time playing in the pro leagues as well as described the challenges they had to overcome.

Peterson was born and raised in Palestine, Texas and is the son of two great college athletes. Peterson was a standout player in track, basketball, and football during his high school years and ended up taking his talent to play football for the University of Oklahoma. He entered in the 2007 NFL draft and was selected as the 7th overall pick by Minnesota Vikings, with whom he still plays with today. Since his entrance into the NFL he has made a star name for himself with a large number of accomplishments and rankings in just the last 8 years. Spikes is a native of Georgia and grew up in the town of Augusta where he learned to play football during his high school years. He was the 13th overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft and played on a number of teams including the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and of course the San Diego Chargers.

Both athletes gave great talks in Georgia earlier in the month and were able to draw an audience for the Calvary Day Football and Cheerleading banquet.
