Jason Day recently signed an endorsement deal with Nike, thanks to his elite status on the links and incredible talent for the game. This deal came short notice after last month when Nike announced that it was leaving the equipment business, and happened in good timing with Day’s contract with Adidas coming to an end at that time. The athlete will be featured as a model for many of their products and hopefully will help the brand grow their sales amongst the golf community.
The Queensland, Australia native started golfing at the young age of six after his father took him to the Beaudesert Golf Club. He later was sent to an international school that had a golf course attached, which is where he really found his groove and passion for the sport. By the age of 19, Day had already won the Green Jacket at the NEC Master of Amateurs and it was then that he officially turned professional. In 2016, he beat out Jordan Spieth for the title of No. 1 in the world, and has of today has won over $33 million dollars in prize money on his tour.
Day recently signed a deal with Nike, who will feature him as one of their star athletes with a number one rank in the world. Be sure to keep your eyes open to see Day in some of their advertisements!
