U.S. track and field star Aries Merritt returns to his alma-mater on Friday, October 5, to speak to students at Wheeler High School in East Cobb, Georgia.
The Olympic Gold Medalist won the 110-meter hurdles in London at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games and broke the world record last month at a meet in Belgium. The 27-year-old captured the 2003 individual title in hurdles while in high school and also led the Wildcats to a state championship in the same year. He went on to break more records while at the University of Tennessee as well.
Merritt will likely deliver a powerful and inspirational speech to the students that could motivate them to seek a similar successful path.
