Orlando Pace Appearance FeeThis Sunday, Orlando Pace along with seven others were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It was a surprise to no one that Pace and the other seven men, including Kevin Greene and Marvin Harrison, were inducted. All of the men inducted this year have a long list of personal and team accomplishments that most do not ever reach. It was not a coincidence that Pace’s career and the dominance of the Greatest Show on Turf spanned nearly the same amount of time.

Orlando Pace, a Sandusky, Ohio native, attended The Ohio State University from 1993 to 1996. While at Ohio State, Pace was named the Outland Trophy winner, finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy which is quite amazing for an offensive lineman, and twice named the Lombardi Award winner, the only player to ever do so. In 1997 the St. Louis Rams chose Pace with the number one overall pick. With the Rams Pace became a mainstay on the Pro Bowl team and anchored the Rams prolific offense for his 12 seasons there. During those 12 seasons, Pace made seven Pro Bowls, three All-Pro Teams, and won one Super Bowl in 1999. Pace also blocked for three consecutive NFL MVPs and started 154 consecutive games. The offensive tackles today can say thanks to Pace for his progressive play that helped lay the foundation for multi-million dollar contracts for tackles. Pace and his AFC peer Jonathan Ogden are one of the main reasons that tackles are the second most important position on the football field.

Orlando Pace was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame this Sunday. The event was once again amazing and had a great showing of sports celebrities and legends of the game. The Hall of Fame induction, as always, gave fans the chance to appreciate the play of some recent legends of the game.
