Former Green Bay Packers lineman and author Jerry Kramer has been named the keynote speaker for the upcoming Paul Hornung Award Banquet to be held on February 25 at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. The banquet is put on each year by the Louisville Sports Commission. Individual tickets are available for $100 a piece with corporate tables of 10 available for $1,500.
“Jerry Kramer had the entire package as a football player,” said Hornung. “He was athletic, smart, tough as nails, worked hard and was a great leader. The Packer dynasty of the 60’s was a reflection of how Jerry played the game.”
Kamer played eleven seasons in the National Football League with the Green Bay Packers from 1958 to 1968. During that span he earned three trips to the Pro Bowl and was named an NFL All-Pro six times. From 1961 to 1967 he helped the Packers to five NFL Championships and wins in Super Bowl I and II. Since his retirement he has become a notable author, with his book “Instant Replay: The Green Bay Diary of Jerry Kramer” becoming a best-seller after it’s release in 2011.
