Stephen GostkowskiNew England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski spoke in front of a sold-out crowd of over 200 fans at the team’s hall of fame “Speaker Series” event on Monday, April 21. During the event Gostkowski spoke about his life and career and then answered questions for about 45 minutes. After the event he signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans.

“I didn’t know what to expect, and then I walk in and there was a whole little stadium full of people. It was pretty cool,” Gostkowski said. “A lot of people had very knowledgable questions, especially some of the little kids who are off from school this week. I don’t know if their dads were telling them what to say but they were asking some good questions.”

One question he answered was about what he planned on doing after his football career was over. His answer revealed his character, telling the crowd that he’d entertain the possibility of coaching youth baseball or doing charity work, such as helping athletes set up charitable foundations.

An eight year NFL veteran, Gostkowski has been with the Patriots since the start of his career in 2006. In 2013 he made a total of 41 field goals, missing just three and hitting 5-6 from beyond 50 yards. During his career he has made 399 of the 400 extra points he has attempted and has a career 85.6% field goal percentage, having made 208 of the 243 kicks he has attempted. While with the Patriots he has been a key contributor to their success, including helping them two Super Bowl appearances in 2007 and 2011.
