Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has been announced as a keynote speaker for the Northern Colorado Sports Awards program that is happening on May 17, 2016. Manning will be there to help celebrate the year’s best student high school athletes, and the event is free and open to the public. For each of the weeks leading up to the ceremony, one female and one male student will be selected to be a part of the event at the end of the season. Manning will be giving everyone a motivational speech and discuss some of the challenges and triumphs that he has had in his career in the NFL. Since the quarterback is so popular in the state of Colorado, a huge crowd is expected to show up to hear what he has to say.
The 14-time Pro Bowl champion was born in New Orleans and is the son of former professional NFL player, Archie Manning. His brother Eli is also a professional football player for the New York Giants, so it is needless to say that the talent runs in their family. Manning was first recognized for his abilities when he played the sport for the University of Tennessee, and he was the number one overall pick in the 1998 NFL draft where he was selected by the Indianapolis Colts. After 13 years with the team he was traded to the Denver Broncos where he still continues to excel.
The Northern Colorado Sports Awards program committee is honored to get such a well loved and fantastic athlete to be the keynote speaker for their event next spring. It will be a free event, so if you are in the area during that time be sure to mark it on your calendars.
