Former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Tim Brown was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 8th, and the football player took his time at the podium with a 31 minute speech about his career, love of football, and appreciation for the induction this year. While Brown was giving his talk he also shared a few funny stories as well as some tear jerking moments that made him the person who he is today. The nine-time Pro Bowl player made sure to keep things mostly light hearted, but when he brought up a moment from earlier that day of a child bringing him a photograph of Brown and his parents to sign during an autograph session his emotional side came out. Brown lost his father a few years ago, so this one instance was meaningful to him and he took it as a sign that his family was with him in spirit.
The Texas native got his playing career started when he played for the Fighting Irish at Notre Dame for three years, where he earned his nickname “Touchdown TImmy”. He entered the 1988 NFL Draft and was picked up by the then, Los Angeles Raiders, with whom he stuck with for the majority of his career. In 2004 he did his last professional season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring from playing football, and finally in January of 2015 he was chosen to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Brown has a lot of fun during his induction into the prestigious Hall of Fame and made sure to take his time and share some fun, heartfelt, and encouraging words for the audience who attended the event.
