Ryan Lochte SpeakerDo you ever wonder what swimmers think about before a big race? Watch and listen to Ryan Lochte describe what the perfect swimming race feels like. If you were wondering what music pumps him up, Lil Wayne is how he gets it done before his friendly stare down with Michael Phelps.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Lochte won his first gold medal of the games in the 400-meter individual medley with a time of 4:05.18. Commenting on his first medal of the 2012 Olympics and the head-to-head competition with fellow American and world record holder, Michael Phelps, Lochte acknowledged Phelps’ greatness while positioning himself as the best today. Phelps then congratulated Lochte on Twitter after the win.

Lochte won silver with the US 4x100m freestyle team, losing out to the French team with a 47.74 split, a full second slower than the French finishing swimmer Yannick Agnel and 0.6s slower than teammate Phelps.

Lochte placed fourth in the 200 freestyle race. Lochte followed that performance, however, by winning gold with the US 4X200m freestyle team. Lochte swam the first split and provided the US team a commanding lead that it never relinquished.

It’s going to be a busy fall for Ryan with more endorsements, speaking engagements, appearances and of course magazine covers!
