Professional Bowler Walter Ray Williams Jr. was driving through West Hazleton, Pennsylvania in early May and decided to put on a small clinic at the Bowl Arena in town. He had been hoping to put on a larger scale workshop for the local kids, but he wasn’t able to make it happen in the time frame. In any case, the bowling alley’s manager was more than thrilled to have Williams Jr. come to their location and work with the kids who were all about high school age. Those who attended got to learn a few techniques and skills from the pro and it was a fun and exciting time for everyone. Even though many talented local bowlers come to the alley from time to time, Williams Jr. was the first nationally recognized person to make an appearance.
Williams Jr. is a eight-time winner of the George Young High Average Award and Harry Smith Points Leader Award, and is he also a seven-time PBA Player of the Year. In addition to that, he is also a nine-time world champion horseshoe player so it goes without saying that this guy has a great arm and some major skills for accuracy in throwing style games. The California native has been an active bowler since 1980 and has traveled all over the country to compete in various tournaments. The 55 year old currently holds 47 PBA titles and 9 PBA Senior Tour titles as he is currently on both tours at the moment.
The talented pro bowler made a stop in the local bowling alley in West Hazleton, PA earlier this month and definitely made a bunch of teenager’s day by spending some time with them to work on their game.
