Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal has been announced as the keynote speaker for this year’s University of Cumberlands’ 12th Annual Excellence in Leadership Series that is happening on Wednesday, April 5th from 5 to 7 p.m. in the O. Wayne Rollins Center at the university’s campus. The event will also be sponsored by The Forcht Group of Kentucky and while registration hasn’t begun yet, stay tuned for updates as it will happen in the near future. O’Neal has been active in the business industry since his retirement from basketball and is expected to share a very inspirational speech during his talk.
O’Neal is from Newark, New Jersey and was an immediate sensation for his basketball team during his high school years. After graduating from Robert G. Cole High School, O’Neal attended Louisiana State University where he studied business as well as play for their basketball team. He entered the 1992 NBA Draft where he was selected as the 1st overall pick by the Orlando Magic, with home he stayed with for four years before going to play for the Los Angeles Lakers. By his retirement in 2011, he had also played for the Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics.
O’Neal will be on The University of Cumberlands’ campus in Williamsburg, Kentucky later on this spring to deliver a keynote address for the 12th Annual Excellence in Leadership Series on April 5th.
