Austin Pettis CharitySt. Louis Rams wide receiver Austin Pettis, a graduate of Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, California, is hosting a charity basketball game at his alma mater on March 28, followed by a free camp for middle school and high school athletes on March 29. The charity game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the camp for ages 13 to 18 will be held from 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. at Orange Lutheran High School.

All proceeds from the charity game and a silent auction go towards supporting the Austin Pettis Foundation, whose mission is to “broaden life experiences of inner-city, underprivileged and disadvantaged youth by raising money for them to attend various sports camps.” Austin Pettis Sports Camps are committed to delivering the highest level of education and sports instruction in a secure, safe and nurturing environment, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Pettis was selected by the Rams in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft after a stellar career at Boise State in which he set records for career receptions (229) and touchdown catches (39). During his first three seasons with the Rams he has recorded 95 receptions for 916 yards and has scored 8 touchdowns. He has also served as the teams kickoff and punt returner.

Founded in 2012, the Austin Pettis Foundation believes that mentorship and learning through athletics and personal experiences are key to the progression of young, impressionable lives, and that there is a significant need to help underprivileged youths to get to the same camps other fortunate families and their children have been enjoying.
