Recently crowned Super Bowl Champion head coach of the Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll returned to USC on Wednesday, February 26 to give a speech. Though he was briefly interrupted by comedian Will Ferrell, a noted USC alumnus, Carroll did get a chance to speak about his time at USC, the Seahawks championship run, and new USC coach Steve Sarkisian.

During his speech, Fox Sports Lindsey Thiry tweeted out several of the things Carroll talked about, including the fact that his career was turned around after reading a book by legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, that he has three rules for all of his teams, those being to always protect the team, no whining, complaining, excuses, and to be early.
Before leading the Seahawks to consecutive AFC Championship appearances and a Super Bowl Championship in 2013, Carroll spent 9 years at USC and led the Trojans to two national championships in 2003 and 2004 and seven consecutive Pac-10 titles from 2002 to 2008. He made the jump to the NFL in 2010 when he was hired as the head coach of the Seahawks.
