Syracuse head basketball coach Jim Boeheim will serve as the guest speaker at a fundraising luncheon presented by the Rotary Club of DeWitt at Traditions at The Links at Erie Village on Monday, October 20. The event is set to begin at noon with Boeheim making his keynote address at 12:20.
The cost of the luncheon is $20 with all proceeds going to benefit the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation. The Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation’s mission is to enrich the lives of kids in need within the Central New York community while also providing support for eliminating cancer through research and advocacy.
Boeheim, 70, is heading into his 39th season as the Orange head coach. During his speech he will be speaking about the upcoming season, which is scheduled to kick off on November 14, and his new book “Bleeding Orange,” which is a mix of autobiography and anecdotes that will be released next month.
This will be coach Boeheim’s last speaking engagement before the season begins next month, so be sure to make it out and see this coaching Hall of Famer in person. Then again, you can always catch him on the sidelines this season as he adds to his impressive 948 career victories, which is second only to Mike Krzyzewski’s 1,000 victories in NCAA Division I history.
