The Brooklyn Nets can finally start marketing Deron Williams as their franchise player. He just signed a 5 year, $98 million deal…and on an Apple iPad. He may have been the first player to do this, but definitely not that last. What a great plug for Apple, as the image of Deron circulated around the Internet and on ESPN.
MetroPCS is the latest company to jump on board of the D-Will train. Deron will support various MetroPCS marketing programs, including commercials for MetroPCS’ new brand campaign aired heavily during the Olympics. He will also be endorsing exclusive promotions for upcoming Samsung Mobile device launches.
In addition, Williams is scheduled to make public corporate appearances on behalf of the brand and participate in various social media activities.
President and COO of MetroPCS, Tom Keys was very excited to have Deron on board. saying, “Deron Williams is highly regarded as one of the top point guards in the world, and dedication on and off the court have been a source of admiration for his teammates, coaches and fans throughout his professional basketball career.” “We couldn’t be more excited to bring on a spokesperson that shares our commitment for superior performance as we continually strive to move our customers forward with innovative devices and services at an incredible value.”
Now that he has the endorsement game down, let’s see if Deron and the Nets can put together a playoff run this season at their new Barclays Center.
