Minnesota Timberwolves guard Tyus Jones hosted a basketball camp in Fargo, North Dakota in the early part of last month. Several local kids from the Fargo area showed up to play some hoops with the 20 year old, who proved that he can still be a kid himself. Several of the participants were in the range of 3rd to 8th grade, and the clinic took place at the Fargo Basketball Academy. It was a lot of fun, and as Jones is about to go into his second professional basketball season with the Timberwolves, it was a great way for him to squeeze in some extra practice!
The Burnsville, Minnesota native was known as a star athlete since he was in 8th grade, which continued on through high school and led him to receive an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Iowa. He entered the 2015 NBA Draft where he was selected in the first round as the 24th overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves, with whom he is still with today. Jones also participated on Team USA at the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championship where he helped his country take the gold medal.
Jones recently traveled to North Dakota to host a youth clinic basketball camp for kids in the 3rd through 8th grades. It was a fun time for everyone involved, and the NBA star got to connect with his inner child during the experience as he shot some hoops with the youngers on the court.
