Triple-crown winning horse trainer Bob Baffert will be opening the 2016-2017 University Speakers Series that’s happening at Indiana State University on September 19th. He is one of the most famous, popular, and successful horse trainers in the entire history of the sports and will be able to share some of the things and best practices that he has to ensure great success. His speech will begin at 7 p.m. sharp in the Tilson Auditorium and the entire event is free to the public to attend.
The Nogales, Arizona native grew up on a ranch in the southwestern state and was taught about horses from the age of 10 and on. While he was a teenager, he worked as a jockey in some of Arizona’s informal Quarter Horse races and even got his first win at the age of 17. He attended the University of Arizona where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in the university’s Race Track Industry Program and went on to becoming a trainer. Over the course of his career, he has currently 2,612 wins and this is still an ongoing number. In 2009, Baffert was nominated and inducted into the National Museum of Racing’s Hall of Fame.
Baffert will be speaking at Indiana State University on September 19 to be featured in their speaker series that’s happening this year. If you live in the area, be sure to stop by as it will be a free event!
