The American mixed martial artist and Olympic medalist Ronda Rousey was recently featured in the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
The current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion remains undefeated in her 10 for 10 UFC fight record to date, and she won those by 2 knockouts and 8 submissions. Rousey began learning martial arts at the age of 11 while taking classes with her mother, and by the time she was just 17 years old she was competing in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In 2006 she won the gold medal at the Birmingham World Cup in Great Britain, as she became the first American female judoka to win an A-Level tournament in a decade.
The last Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion won the silver medal at the 2007 World Judo Championship after being ranked in the top three female fighters on the planet. In 2012, the UFC announced that Rousey was the first woman fighter to sign them, and was named one of ESPNW’s Impact 25 in 2014.
Rousey is most notably known for her unique fighting style which is a mix of judo and other martial arts, and she has proved to have a spectacular armbar in the ring. She appears in the 2015 SI Swimsuit Issue which is already on shelves as of now.
