US soccer star Carli Lloyd has recently signed a book deal with the publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. She will be putting together a memoir that is set to be released in about a year during the fall of 2016, and the deal was sold at auction by her representatives at the company. Lloyd has a great story to tell, especially after scoring three goals within the first 16 minutes of the Women’s World Cup Final earlier this summer. The soccer player’s memoir that will be published will be inspiring, motivational, and entertaining for all of the fans and other athletes out there who are hoping to achieve their dreams.
The New Jersey native started playing soccer at the young age of five and continued to practice and excel at the sport throughout her high school years. She attended Rutgers University from 2001-2004 and was the first athlete at the school to be named a part of the First-Team All-Big East for four years in a row, and in 2013 Lloyd was inducted into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni. The midfielder went pro in 2009 and has played for the Chicago Red Stars, Sky Blue FC, Atlanta Beat, Western New York Flash and she is currently a part of the roster for the Houston Dash. She became a member of the USWNT in 2005 and has since developed herself into a star player internationally.
