Indiana Fever forward Tamika Catchings will be speaking at the Seymour Christian Church on March 15. The five-time defensive player of the year will be talking to people about her life, career in basketball, and how her faith and connection to family are the number one priorities in her world. She will be at both morning services starting at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., and will be offering autographs and a photograph opportunity for attendees and their children. There will be a small donation fee of $5 for a picture that will be collected at the end of the day and donated to Tamika’s Catch the Stars Foundation.
The 2012 WNBA Champion and WNBA Finals MVP is originally from Stratford, New Jersey, and was drafted to the Indiana Fever in 2002. In addition to that, she also plays overseas for the Turkish basketball team Galatasaray. In 2005 she played for Spartak Moscow and in 2009 for Lotos Gdynia before switching to the Turkish team the same year. The nine-time WNBA All-Star has also brought home three gold medals from the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Olympic games she played with other members of the United States national team.
Catchings is also the daughter of a former NBA player, Harvey Catchings, who played the sport during the 1970s and 1980s. She will be attending services at the Seymour Christian Church on March 15 to give a talk about setting goals and priorities, and also offering chances to get a photo with her and an autograph.
