Before joining Carey Olsen in 2003 Alan was with Linklaters for 25 years, including 16 years as a partner, specialising primarily in capital markets work.
Alan joined Linklaters in London as a trainee solicitor in 1978. He became an associate in 1980 and was in the firm's London and New York offices. He became a partner in 1987. From 1990 to 1995 he was in Linklaters' Hong Kong office where he headed the capital markets practice and from 1995 to 1998 he was in the firm's office in Singapore. In 1999 he returned to Linklaters' London office where he specialised in derivative and structured finance capital markets transactions and in acting for corporate trustees. In 2003 he returned to his family home of Jersey, where he joined the Carey Olsen Group as a partner.
