Nathan Jenden was born in London and is the creative director at Diane Von Furstenberg. He launched his eponymous label in 2005 in New York for the fall 2006 season. After graduating from Saint Martin’s and the Royal College of Art, Nathan joined as an apprentice with John Galliano. He moved to New York in 1998, where he spent three years working with Daryl K as the design director, before establishing himself as the creative director for Diane Von Furstenberg, helping her erect the DVF brand.
The London native designs women’s wear with neuter looks and equestrian flourishes, including jodhpurs put into boots, draping capes, and disheveled blouses showing from intelligent tuxedo jackets. The label, which was showcased in London also, has not come up with any signature style, but has the spirit of the eighties, such as eveningwear with big bustling bows or the short-sleeve suit ensembles. Nathan Jenden, explains his line as tailored and modern, has been inspired by ice cream, microscopes, and Lewis Carroll.
