Bryce Molder Biography

Bryce Molder was born in Harrison, Arkansas on 27th January 1979. Born with no left pectoral muscle (which makes that side of his chest concave), and also with Poland Syndrome, a fairly rare defect that made his left hand much smaller than his right. He underwent two surgeries before he was 5 years old because three fingers on his left hand were webbed together up to the knuckle. He turned professional in 2001.

At the beginning of the 2002 season with no status on any tour, Molder travelled to Australia to compete at the Buy.com Tour's season-opening event, the Jacob's Creek Open. Though he closed with a disappointing 73, he finished second and picked up a cheque for $53,000. The following month at the Buy.com event at home in Arkansas, Molder finished seventh. Two weeks later, he competed on the PGA Tour, at the Compaq Classic. He tied for ninth and left with $112,000.

In the succeeding five weeks, Molder played in four PGA events, missing the cut at the Memorial, but finishing with ties for 22nd, 13th, and 12th elsewhere. He had played his way into a temporary PGA Tour exemption covering the remainder of the year.
