Coach Mike Martin Biography

The 2007 College Baseball Hall of Fame inductee is originally a native of Gastonia, North Carolina, which is where he began his baseball playing career at Wingate Junior College. After leaving his college career, Martin went on to play baseball in the New York Mets and Detroit Tiger minor leagues. From 1971 to 1974, he coached basketball at the high school level and for Tallahassee Community College before getting to become an assistant baseball coach in 1975 for Florida State University. In 1980, Martin had the opportunity to be the head baseball coach for FSU, and this is where he still remains today 37 years later.
