Dave Miller Biography
Dave Miller is one of basketball's most versatile and energetic radio and television personalities. Currently he serves as the Host of the KIA Motors Laker Shoot Around Show, the Laker's half-time report, as well as the Verizon Lakers Line post game show in Los Angeles, California. During the NBA playoffs he became a regular contributor on Mike and Mike in the morning as well as Sports Center, Outside the Lines, and various national radio broadcasts in the ESPN network. He also was hired by the Big Ten Network as a college basketball analyst this past 2011 - 2012 season.
Miller's passion and enthusiasm combined with his knowledge of the game has set him apart from other broadcasters. He has coached at every level of basketball from AAU to being an NBA bench assistant with the New Orleans Hornets. His 17 years in college basketball has taken him from the Patriot League to the Pac-10. He is still considered one of the all-time best recruiters in NCAA basketball. In 1996-97 he was voted the 'Most Visible Assistant Coach in the Nation' by Hoop Scoop. After his hire at the University of Southern California he immediately established himself as one of the Pac-10's premier recruiters. According to Dick Vitale of ESPN, 'Dave Miller implemented a NATIONAL Recruiting effort and helped put USC basketball on the map nationally!' His tireless work ethic and preparation that was his trademark in the coaching profession is very easily noticed in each and every broadcast he participates in. He has the respect of players and coaches at all levels to keep it real without sugar coating the facts. Miller's collegiate stops included Eastern Kentucky University where he earned his Master's Degree in Sports Administration, The University of Texas, Arizona State University, West Point, Utah State, and the University of Southern California.
