Steve Stipanovich Biography

A graduate of the University of Missouri, Steve Stanovich was named College Player of the Year and ended his career at Mizzou as the school's all-time leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker. In 1983 he was the Pacers first round pick in the NBA Draft and earned NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 1984. During six seasons with the Pacers he averaged 13.2 points and 7.8 rebounds a game. Since his retirement in 1988 he and his wife Terri have been involved with the Mercy Ministries program in the St. Louis Area, providing temporary homes for young women recovering from abuse.
