Troy Dumais Biography

Troy Dumais was born January 21, 1980, Ventura, California and is a competitive diver from California. Dumais has represented the United States in the 2000 Olympic Games, 2004 Athens Olympic Games, 2008 Olympic Games, and 2012 Olympic Games, the last in which he won a bronze medal in the synchronized 3m. He attended the University of Texas at Austin.

In June of 2012 Dumais gained the second spot representing the United States in the 3m springboard individual event at the 2012 Olympic Games in London the following month. He also, along with his 3m synchro partner Kristian Ipsen, qualified at the same U.S. Olympic Team Trials held in Federal Way, Washington to represent the United States at the games. In making the 2012 United States Olympic team, Dumais equals the record set by Greg Louganis of having been the only diver selected to represent the United States at four Olympiads.

Dumais and his partner Kristian Ipsen won the bronze in the synchronized 3m on August 1, 2012 with a score of 446.7.[4] It was the first medal of any kind for Dumais during his Olympic career and the first for the United States in diving since 2000. The duo's medal along with David Boudia and his partner Nicholas McCrory's bronze in the synchronized 10 m platform were the first Olympic medals of any kind for the United States in diving since 2000.
