Booking Former Army Black Knights Player Appearances
The Army Black Knights are a football team representing the United States Military Academy, based in West Point, New York. They were established in 1890 and are one of the few NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision independent schools that are not a part of a Conference. Currently coached by Rich Ellerson, they have claimed three national titles in their history.
The Army Black Knights were at their peak in the 1940s, taking the national title for three consecutive years in 1945, 1946 and 1947 under Coach Earl “Red” Blaik who headed the team from 1941 to 1958. Of the team’s three Heisman Trophy winners, Pete Dawkins is the only player still alive today, winning the award in 1958. Doug Kenna was the team’s quarterback in the 1940s and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1984.
