Baseball Analyst Buster Olney has been announced as the featured speaker at the fourth annual Lipscomb Baseball First Pitch Dinner that is happening on January 27th at 6 p.m. at the Allen Arena. Olney is also the author of the 2010 book, “How Lucky You Can Be” which is about the legendary Lipscomb basketball coach, Don Meyer. Olney is expected to share a few stories and highlights from his amazing career, as well as some of the more difficult times on the job.
The Washington D.C. native spent most of his childhood on a dairy farm, which unbelievably came in handy on a few segments he was featured on for the Mike and Mike in the Morning. After attending and graduating from Vanderbilt University, Olney was hired as a reporter for the Nashville Banner sports section. Over the years, he has also participated and worked on several pieces for ESPN’s magazine and website, as well as covering the New York Giants in the New York Times. Currently, he resides in New York state with his wife.
