Dodgers legend Bill Buckner will be featured at this year’s Youngstown State baseball eighth annual First Pitch Breakfast on Feb 10 at The Embassy in Boardman. The food at this hotel has always been fantastic and Buckner is thrilled to be a part of this wonderful function that supports his career sport. Buckner is expected to share some of his memories as a player in great detail and highlight a few special experiences. Tickets cost $25 for general admission, $35 for reserved seats, and $550 for a table of 10 which include raffle tickets, premium seating for breakfast, and two guests who will appear along with Buckner.
The Vallejo, California native was a well-known talented athlete during his high school years in both baseball and football. He briefly attended Arizona State University and the University of Southern California before entering the 1990 MLB Draft where he was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He stayed with the team for seven years before switching to the Chicago Cubs in 1976. Over the course of his professional career, Buckner got to play for several MLB teams such as the Boston Red Sox, California Angels, and Kansas City Royals before heading back to Boston for a final year preceding his retirement in 1990.
Bucker is on the books for this year’s eighth annual First Pitch Breakfast at the Embassy in Boardman which is set to occur towards the end of next month. Be sure to get your tickets in advance as it is bound to sell out.
