Buffalo Bills owner Kim Pegula has been announced as the keynote speaker for the inaugural Penn State Sports Business Conference that is happening on March 15-16 in University Park, PA. The conference itself is a one-of-a-kind event for students who wish to pursue a sports business career as they will have lots of opportunities to network with industry leaders from a cross-section of sports business entities. Faculty members and locals will be invited to attend as well, since it is a great time to gain some interesting and valuable information. Pegula is expected to talk about her career in the sports industry which she is in a partner in with her husband, and it will be moderated by Abe Madkour, who is executive editor of Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal. The price to attend is $20 for students and $50 for everyone else and includes a breakfast and lunch over the two-day event.
The South Korean-born businesswoman came to live in the United States with her adoptive parents, Ralph and Merilyn Kerr when she was just five years old. After attending Houghton College, Pegula met her husband Terry in a restaurant where he initially offered her a job and this was the beginning of their relationship. The Pegulas purchased the Buffalo Sabres in 2010, and the Buffalo Bills shortly after that. Kim Pegula was a big influence on the planning and redesign of HarborCenter, which is a recreation center right ned to the Sabres’ area and it really boosted the image of Buffalo. The couple and their family currently live in Boca Raton, Florida.
Kim Pegula will be speaking at the first ever Penn State Sports Business Conference that is happening later this month over the 15th and 16th over March. Tickets are for sale in advance and include admission to the two-day event as well as a couple meals.
