Chicago Cubs Kyle Schwarber took part in a meet and greet with fans on Tuesday, April 11 at Macy’s on State Street in Chicago. The first 100 people in line to spend more than $35 on merchandise from the Locker Room area had the opportunity to take a photo with the athlete and get a signed Cubs Gold Majestic poster. This event was free to the public and anyone was able to attend, however, no personal memorabilia was able to be signed and there was a limit of just one autographed poster per person. After the team became the World Series Champions, their fan base grew exponentially and so there were a lot of people who showed up to this event. It was a special and rare chance for many of the biggest baseball fans out there to interact with one of their idols.
The Middletown, Ohio native attended Indiana University where he played baseball starting his freshman year and was even named an All-American player during that time. By the time he was a sophomore, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association made him a first-team All-American player and things just got better from there. Schwarber was selected in the 2014 MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs, and started out on the minor team for his first year but was promoted to the majors in June 2015.
Schwarber made an appearance earlier this month at Macy’s in Chicago to meet and greet with fans who waited in line and purchased enough merchandise from the Locker Room section of the store. It had a fantastic turnout and was a great day for everyone involved.
