Basketball stars including David Robinson, Grant Hill, Lenny Wilkens and Teresa Edwards appeared at the NBA Store in New York City to meet with their fans, take photos, and sign autographs earlier this summer. Between the four athletes, there were 10 gold medals and they were as pumped up as everyone else who was viewing and excited about the Summer Olympic games in Rio this year. It was a great time for all of their fans, and the NBA store was able to provide them with all their Team USA gear to display their patriotism.
Robinson is a two-time NBA Champion and a 10-time NBA All-Star that played his entire 14-year career with the San Antonio Spurs and participated in three Olympic Games. Hill is a seven-time All Star Player who played for 19 years in the NBA for the Pistons, Magic, Suns and Clippers as well as the 1996 Olympic Games. Wilkens is a native of New York and served as both a player and a coach for several teams, and brought home a gold medal from the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Edwards was rated as one of the “100 Greatest Female Athletes of the 20th Century” by Sports Illustrated in 2000, and also spent several years as a player for the Atlanta Glory, Philadelphia Rage and Minnesota Lynx before being an assistant coach for a few odd years.
The foursome traveled to the NBA store this summer in New York City to meet and greet with fans, and promote the USA’s legacy in the sport of basketball.
