Doug Collins Speaking FeeNBA Analyst and former Philadelphia 76ers coach Doug Collins has been announced as the featured speaker at this year’s annual summer fundraiser for the Illinois High School Basketball Hall of Fame that is taking place at the Rend Lake Resort and Conference Center on July 10. Tickets to get into the fundraiser will cost $40 per person or $280 for a table of eight, and there will also be an auction for tickets to several sports related events around the area. The hosts of the event are extremely excited to get Collins on board to be the speaker, as he is very well known all over the country and has earned a lot of respect in the industry.

The Illinois native attended Illinois State for three years before entering the 1973 NBA draft where he was chosen as the first all around pick and went to the 76ers. After four good seasons, Collins retired due to an injury. However, the star basketball player and Olympic silver medalist came back to the courts in 1986 to coach the Chicago Bulls. Before his retirement from that in 2013 he also coached for the Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards and the back to his old stomping grounds, the Philadelphia 76ers. Currently he works as an analyst on the NBA on ESPN pre-game show NBA Countdown.

Collins will be the featured speaker at this year’s Illinois High School Basketball Hall of Fame fundraiser that is going to really appeal to the locals, especially since he is one of them.
