ESPN NFL analyst Jon Gruden recently traveled up north earlier this month to speak at North Dakota State’s Annual Spring Football Coaches Clinic. The event happened on April 7, and not only was Gruden a great fit for the job, but many of the local coaches who were participating were familiar with him. Over the course of his speech, the former Bucs coach shared a few of his most helpful tips when it comes to preparing for games and getting players ready to hit the field full force. Not only did he share some tactics with the other coaches, but he also was able to get into some of his personal stories about his time in the NFL.
Gruden is a retired professional football coach who led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl win in 2003, and also spent some time coaching several other NFL teams including the Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles. After leaving professional football in 2008, Gruden worked for ESPN as a color analyst for its program Monday Night Football, and volunteered as an assistant offensive line coach at Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, Florida. Kolber is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and currently works as a football sideline reporter, co-producer, and sportscaster for ESPN. She has been on a number of different programs including Monday Night Football, The Namath Incident, NASCAR Countdown and Fox Sports News.
Gruden visited North Dakota on April 7 of this month to attend and speak at this year’s annual coaches clinic. Many types of coaches did attend the function and were thrilled beyond words to have someone who worked at such a high level come to speak at this event.
