Former New York Giant Victor Cruz was announced as the keynote speaker for this year’s Temple B’nai Abraham Annual Sports Breakfast on January 28th in Livingston. During his time on stage, he shared many memories of his experiences in his professional football career including being at the Super Bowl XLVI and playing with the New York Giants. The breakfast began at 9 a.m. with the program following shortly after an hour later. The food this time was cooked by the Men’s Club members and there was also an opportunity for people to get an autograph from the football great.
The Paterson, New Jersey native attended Paterson Catholic High School in town which is where he got his start in playing football. He ended up being an earner of the All-State honors as a senior in 2003 by helping his team go undefeated with a record of 11-0. Cruz ended up attending the University of Massachusetts where he graduated from and entered the 2010 NFL Draft. Even though he went undrafted, Cruz was signed the very next day by the New York Giants with whom he had a six-year-long career with before being a free agent and working somewhat with the Chicago Bears’ practice squad.
Cruz was a bit hit at this year’s TBA Annual Sports Breakfast that happened towards the end of last month. He was very motivating and managed to hit home with a lot of the audience.
