Former Seattle Seahawks quarterback David Greene recently traveled to Savannah, GA to be the featured speaker for the seventh annual Best of Preps banquet. During his time on stage, he got to share his stories of struggles and success in the NFL industry and how they helped shape him into the person that he is today. In addition to that, Greene also talked about his thoughts on the current Bulldogs football team and what he thinks of their coach, Kirby Smart. It was a fun and exciting speech, and one that everyone could relate to whether or not they were football enthusiasts.
The Snellville, GA native started playing sports in high school, where he played both football and baseball. This led him to attend the University of Georgia where he was on the roster for the football team starting in 2001. He entered the 2005 NFL Football draft where he was picked up in the third round as a 3rd overall pick by the Seattle Seahawks, with whom he played with for two seasons. Before officially retiring from the playing field, Greene also briefly joined the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Indianapolis Colts but never secured a first strong position. These days, Greene is working for an insurance brokerage firm in Atlanta.
The retired Seahawk recently attended the Seventh Annual Best of Preps banquet that happened in Savannah earlier this month and it was a good time for everyone in attendance.
