Tampa Bay Buccaneers Warrick Dunn has been announced as a speaker for this year’s leadership symposium hosted by Live2Lead at the Harker Heights Activities Center in the Stewart C. Meyer Public Library. The event begins at 9 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. on January 24th and will include other speakers such as John C. Maxwell, Dave Ramsey, and Cheryl Bachelder. The leader development experience is said to be designed to equip people with key takeaways, practical tools and new perspectives on living life in a community. Dunn will also likely share some personal insights on what his former career in the NFL taught him and how his job changed him for the better.
The Baton Rouge, LA native got his start in football at Baton Rouge Catholic High where he played the positions of quarterback, cornerback and running back. During just his sophomore year, Dunn helped take his high school team to the 4A championship game. He ended up attending Florida State University where he rushed over 1,000 yards in three straight seasons. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree in 1997 he entered the 1997 NFL Draft where he was chosen in the first round as the 12th overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He stayed with the Buccaneers for four years before relocating to the roster of the Atlanta Falcons for five more years. Dunn finished off his career as a Buccaneer once more before permanently leaving the field as a player in 2008
Dunn will be speaking at the leadership symposium later this month on January 24th at the Stewart C. Meyer Public Library that’s beginning at 9 a.m. and will last for four hours. Individual tickets cost $40, or it’s $300 for a table of eight.
