Former NFL Star for the Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens Matt Birk spoke at CTE Computer Event “Graduating to College and Career” on April 10 which was put on by the Crowley’s Ridge Educational Service Cooperative along with Arkansas Northeastern College. The six-time Super Bowl Champion told the students about how important it is to stay with like-minded people who share their dreams and goals in order to get the most they want out of life. He stated that reading and writing will never “go out of style” so it is important to keep themselves up to date with continuing their educations as much as possible.
Birk was picked up by the Minnesota Vikings during the 1998 NFL Draft, where he spent 10 years with the team and then went to the Baltimore Ravens for another three before retirement. Even though he has left playing football, the six-time Pro Bowl athlete is still heavily involved in the league as he was hired to be the NFL director of football development in July of last year. Birk’s passion for the sport is one that keeps him going with it, and even though he has hung up his cleats he is still changing the football community with his fantastic business skills.
The six-time Minnesota Vikings Man of the Year winner got to speak to some young people at CTE Computer Event earlier this month, and he was encouraging them to find the same drive and enthusiasm for something in their own futures.
