M.D. Jennings AppearanceOn Tuesday, October 9, from 6 p.m. through 9 p.m. fans will have the opportunity to meet Green Bay Packers’ safety M.D. Jennings at the Legends of the Field in Mequon at a Public Autograph Signing.

Jennings, as most NFL fans know by now, was the player involved in the play that will go down as one of the most famous, and controversial famous plays in history. The 24-year-old safety appeared to have intercepted the ball from the Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson, in his final pass. Officials instead ruled that Seattle wide receiver Golden Tate had simultaneous possession of the ball and ruled it a touchdown. Because a scoring play cannot be overturned in replay on grounds of possession, the call was upheld and the Seahawks won by a score of 14-12.

The play is now being referred to as the “Touchception”, and mockingly been said that “This is the only game where a quarterback got credited for throwing a game winning interception.”

Jennings remarked, “Just watching in the back room, I think if you asked Golden Tate to take a lie detector test and ask him did he catch that ball or did M.D. catch that ball, M.D. caught that,” adding, “It was clear as day … at least that is what my eyes saw.”

Packers‘ head coach Mike McCarthy said, “Don’t ask me a question about the officials. I’ve never seen anything like that in all my years in football.”

In any case, fans securing an autograph from Jennings can be assured it will be a popular signing to have for years to come.
