Hall of Fame defensive back Aeneas Williams has been announced as the keynote speaker for Reeds Spring School Foundation’s Fundraising event happening on March 4th at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede in the Reeds Spring area of Missouri. Attendees this year will get to see the new 2016 Dixie Stampede Show, which will be directly followed by William’s talk. Tickets for the event can be purchased at Simmons Bank locations in Branson West, Nixa, Springfield, and Reeds Spring for $25 for general admission or $50 to be able to attend a VIP reception with Williams. The former Cardinal is expected to talk about his football career highs and lows, as well as the importance of an education. All of the proceeds for this event will benefit the Reeds Spring R-IV School Foundation, which focuses on assisting students with growth and learning in the classroom, as well as continuing their education after high school.
The New Orleans, Louisiana native got his career football started during his high school years while attending Alcee Fortier High School. In fact, there were three other future-to-be NFL players on his team. He then attended Southern University and joined their football program where he was able to tie the NCAA Division I-AA record for most interceptions. Williams entered the 1991 NFL draft and was selected in the third round by the Phoenix Cardinals, where he continued to play for the first nine seasons of his NFL career. Before retiring in 2004 with eight Pro Bowls and a NFC Championship under his belt, Williams ended his career with three seasons with the St. Louis Rams. In February 2014, the Cornerback player was finally accepted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Williams will be in Missouri in the early part of next month to serve as the keynote speaker for this year’s benefit fundraiser hosted by Reeds Springs School at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede.
