The event will take place on December 1st at the Crowne Plaza Reading in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. The Dayton, Ohio native started playing baseball during his teenage years at Fairview High School in 1967. Shortly after graduation, he went on to attend Ohio University in Athens where he led the Bobcats baseball team to the College World Series in 1970. He then entered the 1971 MLB Draft where he was selected in the 2nd round as the 30th overall pick by the Phillies. Schmidt spent 17 years in the MLB and stayed in Philadelphia for the entire duration of his career. In his professional years, he managed to be a 12-time All-Star player, a World Series champion, and even a 10-time Gold Glove Award winner.
