James Worthy AppearancesAfter School All Stars-LA supporter, MetroPCS brought NBA legend James Worthy to visit students at school. James spoke to the All-Stars, inspiring them to do their best in school and also reminded them of the importance of staying physically fit. Afterwards, students enjoyed participating in basketball dribble, drunk and passing stations. Worthy spent one on one time with many of the students and signed autographs for all those in attendance.

Worthy played in 926 NBA regular season games, averaging 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and three assists per game. He was voted one of the top 50 NBA players of all time in 1996 and was later inducted into Basketball’s Hall of Fame in 2003. His jersey (#42) is only one of seven retired by the Los Angeles Lakers, alongside (#44) Jerry West, (#13) Wilt Chamberlain, (#22) Elgin Baylor, (#25) Gail Goodrich, (#32) Magic Johnson and (#33) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Aside from numerous speaking engagements, Worthy also dedicates a substantial amount of his time and resources to support non-profit community organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers of America, YMCA, and others. Here are more details of the ASAS-LA / MetroPSC partnership.
